Abstract Hot stamping is a commonly used procedure to manufacture components from high strength steels, which are for parts of car bodies. Against the background production efficiency and costs, there number factors determine performance tools in hot stamping, e.g. cycle time lifetime tools. Main requirement wear resistance, while additional properties such as thermal conductivity can be considered being beneficial. Many steel grades, currently applied (e.g. work tool 1.2367) contain amounts alloying elements gives them good mechanical properties, particularly at temperatures. However, these steels turn suffer rather low only moderate resistance. Optimization balance lead better general working applications. In this study, novel characterized with special focus on relevant Results compared those reference steels.
